Raide LF 40L Touring Pack

A versatile, spacious touring pack built for skiers who want one pack that handles everyday tours and multi-day hut trips without compromise. The LF 40L brings the same UHMWPE fabric, best-in-class avalanche tool access, and modular ski carry system as the LF 30L in a larger format that expands to 55L for your biggest objectives without adding unnecessary weight to the system.

Why We Carry It
It's the pack we recommend for backcountry skiers who want the full Raide feature set in a larger volume for hut trips, overnight objectives, and big gear days where the 30L isn't quite enough.

Highlights

• Easiest avalanche tool access on the market — Probe accessed without taking the pack off for faster rescues and more efficient snow study. Shovel accessed by dropping one shoulder strap with a pocket sized for most large shovels and handles. Tools positioned on the side panels for better space efficiency and weight closer to your center of mass.
• Challenge Ultra 200TX main fabric — A 200 denier UHMWPE woven fabric that is 2x more tear-resistant and 8x more abrasion-resistant than competing ultralight fabrics with a 130k hydrostatic head rating. The highest strength-to-weight ratio yarn on the planet in a construction built for serious mountain use.
• 40L expandable to 55L via stowable waterproof rolltop — A significant volume range that covers daily touring loads at 40L and expands to 55L for multi-day hut trips and expedition objectives without committing to a dedicated expedition pack.
• Back panel access with molded composite insert — Full access to the main compartment regardless of how skis are carried. A molded composite back panel with anti-bulge ribs that locks its shape even at full capacity, remains stiff horizontally to keep pressure off the spine and maintain airflow, and flexes vertically for easy access and natural movement.
• Modular ski and snowboard carry in four configurations — Diagonal ski carry in three positions including left, right, and skimo carry without removing the pack, A-frame ski carry, and vertical snowboard carry that attaches directly to the aluminum frame for increased stability.
• Removable 7mm aluminum frame — Runs the perimeter of the pack and anchors all ski and snowboard carry systems for a secure, stable load. Strips out when not needed to bring total pack weight to 1,060 grams.
• Integrated helmet carry — Built directly into the pack for a secure, stable carry strong enough to hold crampons inside the helmet. Positioned high to stay clear of ski and snowboard carries and allow the pack to lay flat on its front.
• Two quick-access stash pockets with drainage — Fast transitions without digging through the main compartment. Drainage keeps wet skins separated from dry gear.
• Top zip for quick access — A pass-through zipper to the top of the main compartment for fast layer access unobstructed by the helmet carry.
• No-snag ice tool carry — Keeps picks fully enclosed and secure to prevent snagging. Designed for axe removal without taking the pack off.
• Two zippered hip pad pockets sized for an iPhone — Accessible hip storage for essentials without removing the pack or opening the main compartment.
• Glove stash strap on shoulder strap — Keeps gloves accessible and secure during transitions without dropping them on the snow.
• 100% recycled cinch top in 210d nylon with UHMWPE ripstop — A sustainable material choice in a high-wear component without compromising durability or weather resistance.
• 1,150-gram total weight strippable to 1,060 grams — A competitive weight for a full-featured 40L backcountry ski pack with an aluminum frame, back panel access, and modular ski carry that expands to 55L.
