MSR Evo Trail Snowshoes

A straightforward, durable snowshoe built for flat trails and rolling terrain where ease of use and all-day comfort matter more than technical features. The Evo Trail's steel crampon traction, Paraglide binding, and UniBody deck cover the full range of everyday winter hiking without overcomplicating a simple piece of gear.

Why We Carry It
It's the snowshoe we recommend for casual winter hikers and beginners who want a reliable, comfortable pair that works with almost any footwear and gets out of the way so they can focus on the trail.

Highlights

• Steel crampon and traction rail system — Martensitic steel crampons and traction rails provide secure, lasting grip on packed snow and light ice without the maintenance and durability concerns of aluminum or plastic alternatives. A traction system built to hold up through seasons of regular use.
• Paraglide binding with stretch mesh — A glove-friendly binding that hugs the foot securely across nearly any footwear from light hikers to snowboard boots without pressure points or complicated adjustment. Wide compatibility makes the Evo Trail a genuine one-snowshoe-fits-most-footwear solution.
• Glove-friendly buckle tabs and straps — Getting in and out is quick and simple with cold hands without removing gloves or fighting stiff buckles in the cold. A practical usability detail that shows up every single time you put them on.
• UniBody injection-molded polypropylene deck — A single-piece deck construction that provides the right amount of flex for natural foot movement on rolling terrain without the rigidity of a stiffer frame that fatigues legs over long flat stretches.
• Modular flotation tail attachment points — Ready to accept 6-inch MSR flotation tails sold separately for on-demand flotation in deep powder or when carrying heavier loads. Extends the Evo Trail's useful range into more demanding conditions without buying a second pair of snowshoes.
• Rated to 180 pounds standard and 250 pounds with tails — A load rating that covers most solo users and expands meaningfully with the optional flotation tails for heavier loads and pack-in camping.
• Made in USA from US and imported materials — Domestic manufacturing backed by MSR's quality standards.
• 3 lbs 10 oz per pair at 22 x 8 inches — A manageable weight and footprint for a steel-frame snowshoe at this load rating. Wide enough for stable footing on packed trails without an awkward gait on groomed paths.
