Terms and Conditions
Effective date: October 6, 2026
These terms apply to purchases, preorders and rental reservations made through salidamountainsports.com, operated by Salida Backcountry Outfitters, LLC, doing business as Salida Mountain Sports, 110 N F St, Salida, CO 81201. By placing an order you agree to them. Our Privacy Policy, Shipping Information and Return Policy are part of these terms.
Orders and pricing
- Prices are in US dollars and exclude tax and shipping. Tax is calculated at checkout for the delivery address.
- We may cancel an order and refund it in full if an item is unavailable, mispriced or cannot be shipped to your address. We will email you if that happens.
- Store pickup orders are held for 14 days. After that we may cancel and refund the order.
Preorders
- Products marked Preorder are charged in full at checkout and ship or are ready for pickup when they arrive from the brand. The expected arrival date on the product page is the brand's estimate and can move.
- You can cancel a preorder for a full refund any time before it ships or is picked up. Email info@salidamtnsports.com with your order number.
- If the brand cancels or substantially changes the product, we refund you in full.
Rental reservations
- Rental packages booked online reserve gear for the dates selected. Final fitting and setup happen in the shop, and you must bring a valid ID and a credit card for the deposit at pickup.
- Rentals are subject to snow conditions and gear availability. If we cannot fill your reservation we refund it in full.
- Renters pay full retail for gear that is lost or broken beyond repair. Equipment returned dirty is charged a $10 cleaning fee. Late returns are charged the daily rate.
- Cancel at least 24 hours before pickup for a full refund. Same day cancellations and no shows are charged one day's rental.
Final sale items
Demo and used gear, avalanche safety equipment (beacons, probes, shovels), helmets, electronics, undergarments, food and drink, and anything marked final sale cannot be returned. Everything else follows our Return Policy.
Backcountry and safety gear
Avalanche safety equipment, climbing hardware and other technical gear require training to use. Please read the manufacturer's instructions. Salida Mountain Sports is not responsible for injury or loss arising from the use or misuse of products we sell or rent.

Product descriptions, photos and text on this site belong to Salida Mountain Sports or the brands we carry and may not be copied without permission. We try to keep everything accurate but cannot guarantee that every listing is free of errors.
